I'm having trouble getting sound on my laptop when I plug in any interface devices for recording. I don't know if it's just me or if it's this new wondows Vista. I have downloaded a compatability driver for this, checked all sound settings(that I know off) but no cigar!!
It's called Black Box(from M-Audio). Quite a nice, easy beginners kit with a couple of drumbeats and amp mod's and stuff.
I've been thinking about getting XP but then there's the future-factor, when Vista takes over all pc's and programs. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot.
M Audio do list a Beta! driver for Blista so if it won't work I would get in touch.
Seriously I would not worry about Vista taking over the World! By the time you find you are getting left behind you will need a new pc!
If you check out all the major builders of top spec' dogs danglers' audio pc's they are sticking with XP. Some of them will put Blista on if you want it but they basically say "Don't come back crying......"!
In the audio world there are a thousand and then some things that Vista cannot do and never will. I have yet to find ONE THING it does better than Xp.
Dave. ( don't want to worry you, but have you heard about Windows 7!)
