I'm from Todmorden. We don't have mobile phones here. We only got running water last week.

    Oh dear.

Not what I wanted to see, as my subs copy of GT has still not come from last month. (This month's has, though, that's what got me worrying, I gave Future plenty of leeway owing to the postal strike and my being abroad and all...) So when this month's came I used the new yourfavouritemagazines website to ask for a replacement. And that still hasn't come, two weeks later...

My plan was to ring if it doesn't come tomorrow, but Fretwired's posting doesn't fill me with hope for successful reassurance. Bum.

    What's in it this month?

A really nice Arrowhead Tele in the 'my guitar is' is section...

I'm not sure I'd describe the phone system as being "from hell", but it did take two minutes to put me onto a person because it couldn't understand that I don't have a UK postcode and didn't recognise "overseas", "international", "Germany" or anything similar. Room for improvement, certainly.

Anyway, the copy supposedly sent out originally still hasn't arrived.

Nor has the replacement ordered online on YourFavouriteMagazines.

Nor has the replacement for the replacement ordered via the callcentre. I'm now off to try to have words with Deutsche Post, but I doubt I'll get anywhere with them, their customer service is second-worst only to Deutsche Telekom as an example of what not to do.

And it's probably sold out as a back-issue, too, by now.

DLM's Girl is already suggesting trawling eBay for it.

I've ordered a CD from Germany (20th Aug) still yet to arrive
Fender CiJ Jaguar Special, Gibson SG Special, Hohner Headless Active Bass, Mesa Boogie Studio 22+, Korg MS2000B, Focusrite Saffire... and counting...

Like buses, two arrived at once.

I got the latest GT and my missing copy of August's issue on Friday.

It turns out that Future are sensible enough not to use Deutsche Post, and the mag is delivered by TNT. (Whose pricy 24hr courier service I've also experienced taking 48 , so I don't know if they're much better.)

There's still no sign of any other issues, though. I seem to remember someone from Subs used to read the forum – if I was them, I'd be interested to know which one I actually got: the one I reordered from the website or the one sent after I called the call centre, and what happened to the two missing copies.

The Eklundh video on the CD-ROM was worth all the hassle. Superb! 8)

I hope your CD has now arrived, Daevid. Yes, there've been lots of problems with Deutsche Post. If you go away for longer than 7 days they just return packets too large for your postbox to the sender. Really stupid. If you get the postcode wrong it takes forever for your letter to arrive.

Well here's a first - just got a letter of apology from the Post Office as it seems it's their fault my magazine was not delivered. They're going to monitor my deliveries in future ...
