Rigs of the Stars!
We've all seen the (Mainly) USA mags do a 'Rig Special' type thing with diagrams of Vai's gear showing the signal path etc (Or at least what he tells us is the signal path) but...
When you get those great back stage interviews (I'm thinking about that bloke who played with Madonna) I think we should have sound clips of Bradders playing the featured rig!
Just stick a good mike in front of the PA plugged into a Laptop and there you go!
We can even have some comedy element in it... 'Crazy Little Thing called love' played though Kerry King's gear.
Or 'Entrails Ripped from a virgin's ****' on Hank Marvins!
It would be ace!

We sort of do that with the On The Road feature we try to run each month.
US mags have a very different relationship with the big stars as they have far more clout than (even...) we do, and it's very unusual for us to be granted stage access. The best at this are the Japanese guitar mags, who seem to have had everybody: even notorious recluses such as Clapton.
It hinges on quality photography, for which you need full access, something fewer and fewer huge bands are prepared to put up with. Still, we do have a few big features in this vein on the burner, so stay tuned...
I feel that the GuitarGeek.com style of showing a signal path has been done to death, but I'd agree that getting the inside news on a player's gear is a vital part of any interview we do. Gear is always first on my question sheet at any rate.
Oh, and take it from me: no star is going to want me to play through their stuff...! I made Vai wince playing Evo (or was it Flo? One of the white ones anyway) acoustically while we set up for a photo shoot: he made me hand it back...ops:
