Default How to get that sound

Anyone got any tips on the tone of of James Dean Bradfield in the Manic's latest release "Autumn song"?

That opening riff just rings so nice. I think he tends to use a Les Paul but I know nothing else about his set up.

I don't know where to start to try to approximate it on Line 6's Gear Box so would appreciate if anyone had any ideas on settings

    Cheers

Neck pickup on a LP I'd say, medium gain on something marshally, a nice bit of reverb, perhaps roll the tone back on the guitar a tiny bit. Quite a sweet little sound.

Prob JCM800 model on Line 6 stuff, or the Chemical model. Half gain, but use some compression. Experiment with the mids.

JDB has used loads of amps but does favour Marshalls and I think the early stuff is all JCM800. Looks like he has a couple of Mesa's now. I'll let you know when I go to see them in December at Manchester!
