Default What was the last film you watched?

Right, following on from Myranda's thread and blatantly nicked from another forum I think we should have a film thread. Basic idea is that you post a quick review of the film (or films) in question (no spoilers please!!) and give it a rating out of ten.

    Last film I watched was:

    Knocked Up 7/10

Was expecting it to be total shit so I was pleasantly surprised to find tears of laughter rolling down my face at several points. It gets a bit too "chick flick-y" in the middle but the rest of it makes up for it.

    Paris, Texas 10/10

Man wanders back into civilisation after spending indeterminate time gadding about in the desert. Better than it sounds, and a Ry Cooder soundtrack to boot. Superb.

most 10/10s are just users trying to skew the average - please disregard hungrymarks post until he has proven that he can behave

Beverly Hills Cop 3, t'was on sky1 last Saturday night. Should really be 4/10 for the film but my love for BHC1 & 2 is enough that it gets a 6/10 by proxy

    The Fighter 8/10

Very good film, Mark Wahlberg surpisingly good. Christian Bale deserving of an Oscar, even more so when, at the end, you see the real person he was portraying.
    My country pop rock band.

Sandberg - Markbass - Diezel - Gibson - Phil Jones

Hugely influential, bands Texas and Travis named from it, but rather dull to watch. You can have too much "wooo-ooom! wooo-OOOM!" from ole Ry as well.

    Departures

A Japanese cellist returns to his rural home-town with his City wife, as his music career is failing. He accidentally becomes an Undertaker's assistant, preparing bodies for burial.

Funny, moving, a fascinating insight into Japanese culture. Spoken in Japanese, with subtitles. I were filling up, honest...

    8/10

(It'd get more if there were explosions with men in vests running away...)
