You can at least include Garak. Every fantasy crew needs a tailor

    Right back to films.

Last week I watched a film in IMAX.

The film was one of my favourites when I was a child and so I have many fond memmories still, but it was initially released a few months after I was born so I never got to see it at the cinema.

Dah dah dah-dah, dah dah-dah, dah dah dah-dah dah dah dah dah dah...

Indiana Jones and the Raiders Of The Lost Ark

    10/10

Frankly I was amazed at how beautiful some of the film stock was when transfered to IMAX. Low light pictures had some noise issues, but the well light outdoors scenes were so awesomely clear you'd have thought they were filmed on some super-mega-HD film camera yesterday rather than some decades ago.

The film was of course brilliant and the sound system in the IMAX screen really gave that sound track a good kick into your brain..

    Brilliant.

Were it not an ultra limited run of a week I'd say "go see it" instead I say "aww, you missed it... shame!"
Oh man, super-jealous! We nearly went but didn't fancy spending that much to see a film we already watch regularly on DVD!

I has one of those threre Cineworld cards, so £13.99 a month and I gets to see films. IMAX is as such only £4 more very justifyable

or gul ducat handing out a drubbing to q in the "recurring baddie" category - ds9 has some good people in it but none of them are really "crew" - morn should have his own category

Resident Evil 70 (or which ever one it was)

Not laughed so hard in ages... some very very very poor cinematic effects too.

One scene driving away from a horde of zombies the car the heroine is in is supposedly clipped by a lorry. Now. The lorry travelling at right angles to the car supposedly clips the rear left corner of the car - sending it spinning I'd bet you'd expect... NO! The car countinued dead straight, but exploded (well no, the blast and smoke came from under the car, not the car itself, so the crash was so intense the tarmac under the car detonated?!) flipping it vertically and landing it (still dead straight) on its roof. Now aside from the improbability of it all the Toyota Prius apparently does not like landing on its roof and is pancaked, almost the entire pasenger compartment is crushed to the level of the doors (which open perfectly) and no one has been so much as scratched either by the crash and resultant broken glass or the initial impact which as discussed was so hard the tarmac below instantly vaporised and the tarmac plasma then exploded. But it get worse, because in the internal shots there is still glass in the windows and the car hasn't crushed under its own weight - ooops.

Later - in another car chase (after escaping zombie russian soldiers with a penchant for doing wheelies on motor bikes and while all the others had RPGs or AK47s one had a chainsaw) the heroine crashes a car through some scaffold to crush a persuer... then slides the car sideways for 30+ seconds... the scaffold collapses and the roof above comes down... still sliding... still sliding. Then in spite of the effects we just saw the car stopped next to no rubble at all - not even some dust. we then see the rubble begin to part as the baddie is not dead after all, but wait! What's this?! The rubble is now an inch from the car - as is the baddie. Of course! The baddie is a fan of Looney Toons style camoflage. I'm sure in the extended version one member of the cast will ask another "is that pile of rubble following us?" and he'll be told "don't be silly, rubble doesn't move!"

And by dog the Acting makes the special effects look awesomes!
the sequel has of course already been confirmed.

2/10 as a survival horror film
    8/10 as a comedy

    Phantom Menace.

not seen it for ages and it's funny the effect time can have. I'd kinda forgotten just how galactically bad that film was. It's quite a marvel, they must've had to invent whole new levels of bad just for that film to plumb.

I think at one point they needed to consult some experts on sucking to make it suck as hard as it did. I hope you had your windows open, as it has been known to suck hard enough to implode a house

Watched 3 films on Love Film in the last couple of days.

Groundhog Day - which was just as awesome as the last 10 times I watched it.

God Bless America - which was no where near as clever as it thought it was and

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - which was surprisingly enjoyable and funny.

    Taken 2.

I wasn't expecting anything new - I was fairly sure they were just going to retread old ground, but I enjoyed the first film so much that I didn't mind.

Then I saw that it was a 12A.

WTF? 12A? Noooo, it'll be rubbish!

Actually, not that bad. They've removed the graphic violence that would make it an 18, but there's plenty of thriller left (car chases, suspense, etc). It would have been nicer, though, ii they'd aimed for a 15 if they'd wanted a wider audience.

Taken lite - I'd have preferred the full-fat version.
It's like a big tide of jam coming towards us, but jam made out of old women.
