    Megamind.

I have this belief forming that screen-writers in the US either work in teams and split when the ideas diverge:

"So there's a super-villain who turns into a super-hero when he kills the current super-hero.."
"Na na, when he adopts 3 kids.."
"No I prefer the super-herocide thing... I bagsie the first shot at selling this to dream works"..

Or go to the same story writing classes:

"Okay class, last week's science fiction assignment about a mission into space to save the planet Earth has provided movie interest for no less than four movie offers: I love the Mars ones, but I'm giving an F to Mr Garland because Cillian Murphy is starring in this film and and E to Mr Layne because the Earth's core is not outer space."

    'Game of Death'.
Wesley Snipes is a secret agent sent to take out an arms dealer, but he soon realises the situation is not what it seems.
    A good action romp. 8/10

Some fine moments in it fer sure. Needs a couple of viewings to get it all - well all I saw anyway. There's probably even more going on.

Hancock - the Will Smith super hero thing.

Started out ok then took a twist and got very poor, very quickly.

    3/10.

    I saw "Limitless".
I'd give it eight out of ten.
    Good plot, actors hammed.

But a long period of darkness, foul food, and the word 'woe' - to such an existence your religious view will lead you, O deceitful ones, of your own actions." - 1000 years BCE, Zoroaster predicts the coming of Keanu.

Not bad as epic war movies go but not as good as A Bridge Too Far or The Longest Day IMVHO, hence...

    The Departed - 7/10

Good performances from Leo DiCaprio (son of a bitch is worming his way into my respect, kinda like Brad Pitt did a few years ago) and Jack Nicholson, even Matt Damon ("Maaaatttt Daaaammmmon") and Mark Warlberg were perfectly watchable, well-scripted with a few nice little twists and nicely morally ambiguous.
Downsides are it's about half an hour too long, with a couple of 'um, what?' type moments and a largely irrelevant romantic subplot. Not the screaming return to form from Scorcese that some thought it was, but very enjoyable all the same.
