    Ripper Street

    ooooooOOOOOOOOOooooooh!

    A bit good that.

Thought it lost it half way through the series but, they pulled it back in. That's two well written series on the BBC that I've enjoyed, this and Mrs Browns Boys...

    My thoughts on Sound City...

Is it possible to get moist eyed over a movie about a Neve console?
    Yes.

Does the latter part of the movie look like a promo for an album?
Yes and No. At the point where I thought the film had ended it was actually only half way through. We then see Dave making an album with the famous desk and a load of big names. I liked this part because the music they produce is better than I expected (Stevie Nicks for one example).

Would I recommend the film to the average movie watcher?
    Probably not

Would I recommend this film to you guys?
    Yes

Why does Sound City the studio have the same font as Sound City amplifiers and who got there first?
    I have no idea.

'The Chernobyl Diaries'. Idea: A+, execution: F-. A charitable 4/10, as the setting was rather good and there was the occasional nice bit of suspense, but I spent the first half an hour thinking that this would be more than it was turning into, and the last half an hour WISHING that it had turned into more than it did.

Again, characters that I didn't really care about (apart from the Ukrainian extreme tour guide, who I really wanted them to do more with), some pretty stock horror sequences, 'unseen baddies' that weren't really all that, and a pretty implausible plotline with gaping holes that aren't really explained. I really, really wanted to like this one too

I thought this would be better than it was in the end... funny that.

    Started so well though.

Seven Psychopaths. Enjoyed it, darkly funny at times. Chrisopher Walken is Ace.

    Rock of Ages.

    Somewhat understandably, loved it.

    The Master

    Superb performance from Joaquin Phoenix

:edit Not an actor I'm too familiar with, I remember him from Gladiator but have just checked Imdb and read he was the son in Parenthood! Don't know why that surprises me so much but I feel f*cking old now!

    Battleship - 7/10

Hate to admit it, but i quite enjoyed it. Simple, 'take your brain out' entertainment.
