Shit experience, good result. I will think twice about bellyaching about PP fees. Name and shame duly noted.

    HI

I am twistedrocks dad and I do not take to well to the slander on this website yes I am disabled and yes I am on a low income because of that not once have I lied to you.

I offered the costs of repair which you where not happy with which is fair enough but being the sellers son I had to make that offer first any other seller would of done the same to minimise cost.

You request a full refund so that is what I gave you we are certainly not spammers or anything else.

The refund was made by me not my son however he will have to pay me back at somepoint.

The paypal rules are quiet clear and I honoured those rules so there was no need for you to make unfounded assumptions.

    Regards

Given that your son had the money from the sale, he should be able to refund you pretty promptly.

Just so you know, I had a guitar sent to me in that very packaging through Royal Mail and it arrived without even a scratch, so the packaging is not to blame at all. I think it would be fair if I shared my side of the story before you all come to a conclusion.

You say I have not responded to any of your e-mails, but I'm pretty sure I don't have any emails from you since the paypal dispute was opened, hell, I only came across this thread today.

The refund was not made by anyone - the money was claimed via a dispute. I feel I have been extremely patient, given the circumstances.
And Paypal email you when a dispute is opened or updated - there was nothing stopping you responding via them. I may have been incorrect about you not being who you say you were (pompeyfaith), however given the circumstances I think I'm fully justified in being suspicious.

There has been no slander at all here, just an entirely accurate account of what has happened.

Just cos packing survived the mail once - doesn't mean that it is upto the job. And reused packaging is always of reduced quality.

And what about me waiting about a month for the payment when I could've sold it to someone else pretty easily? Anyway, I've told you this many a time, it doesn't matter how it's packaged, as soon as the guitar leaves my hands, it's the courier's responsibility which is why I think this entire thing is extremely unfair. And PayPal being biased doesn't help either :/

This is not the time to be arguing, if you want to maintain a trading relationship on this forum. I told you many a time you could move the guitar if another buyer appeared. The package is your responsibility until it arrives in my hands. Aside from that, there's no excuse for lying to me about insurance claims, ignoring my emails, and then accusing me of being out of order.

An apology would be appreciated, and could help you retain any credibility here, but judging by your attitude so far I can see that it's unlikely.

Doesn't matter how many times you say it, it's still not true.

It is your responsibility to ensure the safe delivery of anything you've sold. When you employ a courier to carry this out you are still responsible to the buyer; you can then claim from the courier.

And you need to read the courier's terms & conditions, because it most certainly does matter how it's packaged if you want to claim back from them if things go wrong.

Never skimp on packaging. And problems like this would never exist. I line the box out in layers of bubble wrap, if guitar is loose in case fill it with bubble wrap and polystyrene pieces so there's no where for it move and wrap the hard case in "Lots" of bubble wrap you get the idea lots of bubble wrap

At least the OP got his refund I would be devastated if I received a damaged guitar through lack of packaging.
