Thanks racefaceec90. I could watch videos like that all day, there's something about making a guitar your own that I just love.

I haven't really played a guitar with a trem regularly for years so I'm considering blocking the trem. Do you think I should actually put in a block of wood to block it or would putting in five strings and tightening the claw be enough (o'r both)? I've got my plastic aquarium piping to put in the strings to dampen them, I've never been a fan of that shimmer you get from springs.

I wired the electronics today but haven't tested it yet. I really hope it works since it took me most of the bloody day, I'm epicly shit at soldering - I think I mentioned it before but it's worth mentioning again!

Is there an alternative to soldering? I know EMG have solderless pickups but can you buy a similar system?

    Thanks zenzeypher.

So! I've been reading about sanding away the paint in the neck pocket and the corresponding area on the neck for wood to wood contact and also sanding to bare wood under the bridge like on the Eric Johnson strat. Has any one done this? Does it help tone as is claimed or is it just voodoo?
