    Default Beginning drums

    Hi
I have just bought a drum kit. I have never drummed before, apart from the Crimewatch theme tune, that I bash out on my thighs every time it comes on......
Anyhow, I bought an Alesis DM10 Studio.
Now I am looking for a good tutorial either on the Internet, on a DVD etc...
Can anyone recommend something to get me started learning setups and a few patterns etc..
    Thanks in advance.

I started late January, all I've been using is:
    1) Rhythm magazine
    2) A basic rudiments sheet
    3) Working out easier songs by ear

Like any instrument, I've found it best to learn the correct technique, practice slowly and accurately, warmup and play songs you actually want to learn, as you tend to spend more time and effort on them.

I think it's a good idea you started. A good way to start learning is by going to the very basic rhythms Youtube would be a very good place to take a look a since there are a lot of tutorials there and as you learn the basic rhythms you can try slowly studying beats of your favorite songs.
