I hate to say it but it's the good stuff that sells for double 10 years later like tubescreamers etc not line 6 type gear.

As an example, earlier in the year, I bought a Digitech RP10 multi FX floorboard thingie. IIRC, they were hailed at the time in the 90's as the daddy of multi FX floor units and were selling for something crazy like £800 rrp. I got it for the grand sum of £23 posted.......

Might be better to cut your losses now as opposed to having sit round the house for years and then really sell for peanuts...

    *shudder*

I could never go back to selling stuff in the small ads. Too many cocky little bastards who think it's appropriate to come into your house and haggle over your stuff.

I know what you mean, but over the past two years I have sold shed loads of stuff using the free-press. No fees, cash in hand and I get much more money back ?

My wife scratchs her head when I sell a amp through the free-press for £50 more then ebay and someone collects it and pays cash.

I think a lot more people are going back to there roots

Well I dont know how you do it, cos I've never seen it like that. Ebay gets the same kind of prices as your local free ads does, ok you do have fees to pay, but for a few £ you do usually shift your gear in the 1st week or 2. In the past I've had stuff in the free ads for ages n barely a call. And like Ade says when they call and come round they start haggling. Ebay for me. Fast easy and convienient.

In the past month on eBay, I have had four non-payers. Had to let a really nice amp go for £150 below current used market price and been propositioned by a tribesman in outer Mongolia.

Using the freepress ( I am currently living between two homes at present. One in North Cambs and one in Essex ) I get fantastic quick results in Essex, but a complete load of timewasters in Cambs. I would rather use eBay then sell anything to the local carrot crunchers up here. They're a bunch of tyre kickers. Always wanting to touch, look, sniff waste your time but never buy.

So I am in split agreement with myself, Sir Axeman and adrianclark.

But I have sold around 8 guitars, a few amps , loads of effects and outboard in the past 6 months through Ad Trader and got a lot more return then I would have done on ebay.
I would rather let my dog take a dump on it and then give it to 'Women in Crisis' charity then let the weirdos up here sniff it.

    I'm inclined to believe you.
Still the FX are pretty good but I might just put it on eBay and get shot of it any way no reserve and all that.
