I wrote a series of drum tutor book years ago, and I've just put the first online. It's a beginner book that was designed to introduce someone to playing drum kit and small percussion, whilst also covering how to read music from scratch. I wrote this because I couldn't find a book with a gentle enough slope for a very beginner. I wanted multiple exercises about each topic, and to introduce one topic at a time very gradually. The books I could find were either too short or got too hard too quickly.
I've been working on making the exercises playable online - you can hear them played and see a red highlight on the note. You can also vary the playback speed. This won't work in Internet Explorer - use a recent Chrome or Firefox for best experience. Some versions of Safari seem ok.
Have a play, let me know if you have any problems.
My thinking is that Volume 1 is free, the other three volumes will require a small monthly fee to access. Am considering a more complex "teacher" type of account where the teacher can create accounts for their pupils for free. Also thinking about allowing theming of the site for a particular teacher.
Feedback/abuse appreciated!
Tim.
