i might be missing a blatant part of the program square in the face, but...

is there a way of getting it to play as though there was a double kick pedal involved in the kit? as in for fast paced metal songs etc.

I would say you could program it specifically for the bar you wanted the double kick, but I'm not sure!

    Ask here: http://rayzoon.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/index.php

    They're very helpful.

I don't know anything about "metal" in the modern sense (although the first concert I attended was Motorhead in 1979!) but...

I'm not sure which version you are using but in Jamstix 2, if you use the "Modern Metal" style, one of the sliders in the kick section of the brain is "Double Strokes". Muck about with this and see if it gives you the sort of thing you're after.

It seems to help if you use it with higher values of the "complexity" slider so that there are plenty of kicks present for it to double-up (makes sense).

I think there's some kind of checkbox arrangement in Jamstix 1 - maybe this also depends on selecting the appropriate style?

Of course for the dedicated head-the-ball with JS2, there's a new pack out with a new metal kit, 5 new styles and six new drummers (only three of which will drink all your cider, shit in the bath and shag your granny). All for about £20: http://www.rayzoon.com/metalpak.html

I recall there being some stuff on the JS forum regarding double kick
    Red ones are better.
