    Default Arranging for single pedal

So im jamming with some guys on drums and they want to play a 5 finger death punch song. Problem being is that it has double bass pretty much all through it and i dont have a double pedal.
The verse and choruses are pretty easy but this bridge part is giving me grief.

Best thing i can come up with so far is:

    Code:
    t|-Oo----Oo---------|
    T|---oo----oo-------|
    S|-------------f----|
    K|-----oo----oo--oo-|
    Any suggestions?

The part i'm talking about is 0:37

Erm.....what's that diagram all about? is that like, a bar, or a beat, or what? Its not very clear, can you explain what's going on?

i cant listen to it at work, but will do so later and advise....

But if I read correctly, you are looking for an altenative to double pedals, using a single?

That's a bar, and you're correct im looking for an alternate arrangement that keeps the feel of the double bass part but not on double bass.

Hmmm....that's going to be a tough call. there really isn't much of a substitute!
I shall have a listen later mate and we will see what we can come up with.

    T|---oo----oo-------|

Where does each beat fall? and what do the Oo vs oo vs f represent....? Can you explain?

It's drum tab, O is accent, o is normal hit, f is flam. These are straight 16ths (there is a 1/6th rest after the flam or you could view the flam as taking up 1/8th).

No worries man, I've only ever read proper drum music, never worked off tabs before. That makes plenty of sense (sort of)

As im mainly a guitarist i consider tab to be "proper music" rather than all the dots and squiggles

Right, had a listen. That is going to be difficult without a double pedal I hope I have understood your question, here we go:

At 37 seconds-ish, where it starts doing the fill type stuff, it sounds like, the toms and snares are all simple (as you've written) and its the bass drum doing all the work.

So if it were me, I would swap the parts around. So do the bass drum patterns with your hands, and the hand patterns with your feet.
Same rhythm then, just on different parts of the kit.

Sounds like simple 16ths, so maybe do 16th fills around the kit, with the bass drum accenting (i think) beats 1, 1& and 3. (Assuming I have got it correct, this is the first time I have listened to it)

When it kicks back in with the main beat, using the double pedal, well, I am afraid there isn't much we can do with this. If it were me, I would play 8ths on the bass drum, and add accents/fills, depends how good with one foot you are.

Anyway, I just played it back, and the above seemed to fit. I think doing the above (or similar) simply re-arranges things onto other parts of the kit, without taking anything away as such.

Well you know, its weird, I play a few instruments, and guitar is the only one I use tabs in. Mind you, guitars are self taught for me, so that's perhaps why, working by number is gooood.

Problem i have with playing like that is getting back over to the snare, I can do it with a paradiddle but playing 16ths at the pace and getting the paradiddle in to reverse the sticking so i can use my left hand on the snare is stretching my independance. I can just about get it but its very shaky timing wise.

Again I can play the straight 1/8th with my right foot but keeping it tight for a sustained preiod is a bit beyond me, currently i play straight 1/8ths in bars 1 and 3 and a simplified pattern in 2 and 4. For bar 4 the important thing is the snare/crash accents anyway so it doesnt feel like its missing too much without the 1/8th on bass drum.
