Default Buying An Acoustic 6 String - Help

    Hey

first time im buying an acoustic/electro acoustic 6 string (ive got a 12 string tanglewood) and was looking for some advice

Ive got about 200 quid to spend and i want a decent sounding acoustic/electroacoustic

Been looking at Takamines on ebay as i hear they are good, but just wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Apart from sounding good, i want a relatively thin neck (im an electric player really and im used to them)

    Any help appreciated

If you're happy with Tanglewood I've got a CE28 electro I'd let go with hardcase for a couple of hundred quid?

    Hi,

In that price range you could do a lot worse than one of these http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Dangleberry...QQftidZ2QQtZkm

I've got a Richwood RJ-18-CE1 (the £219 mode on the sitel) and it's excellent, tho' I've gotta be honest, it needed a bit of work to bring it up to it's best. Basically, the action was too high, it needed the bridge routing out to lower the saddle/action, but once done, it's now as low as most electrics I've tried. It sounds great, and the Fischman Classic 4 piezo pickup is really good.

Granted, you'd be taking a chance buying one untried, but if mine is typical, it's worth risking.

Try a LAG Spring .. I was impressed when I tried one. Well made, good acoustic tone, easy to play and it looks good. I was stunned when I found out the price ... failing that a Yamaha.

at that price there are some good guitars, and some real dogs as well. Therefore it is imperative to check them out before buying, and use your ears as the guide and not the brand.
My first acoustic was/is an aria dread, I think it's a cracking guitar, for any money let alone the £200 I paid for it. However, when I got it I (and the floppy haired youth in the shop) played several of the same model and some of them were real howlers.
None of you seem to understand; I'm not locked in here with you, you'll all locked in here with me.

I don't know how far you are from Stevenage but Coda is having a clear out of Washburn acoustics with many at or below half of the RRP.

That's almost enough to tempt me into moving back to England,

I used to have a Washburn acoustic about ten years ago. Great guitar and I would have kept it if I had enough cash to buy the SG outright...
