Default Drum Recording - with Nice Analog Front End

Just want to share this clip from a drum tracking session yesterday.

We tuned the drums real good, minimized problem frequencies and unnecessary resonance, then carefully selected mics and placements, then aggressive EQ in the analog domain before the A/D

the kit is a stock Pearl Export, the snare is Joey Jordison, hats are mostly Sabian (13" aax hats, 16 pro sonix crash, ride) with one 18" Ziljian crash.

57 on snare top (el8x), i5 on snare bottom
d12 inside kick, speaker mic kick out
peluso r14 pair for overhead (compressed via tfpro p38)
MXL cheapo for room mic (compressed via drawmer)

    check it out!

Snare sounds weak, But that down to the joey jordison signature model. Get yourself a wood shell snare for recording. Or at least tune it differently.

As a drum mix on its own, its very good indeed. However, with other instruments, I suspect it will need taming. Its probably a bit bassy and boomy.

Sounds pretty good though. Nice work. I'd be happy with that

Sounds great. But yeah, the snare sounds a bit weak though. But overall, great drum session you guys have there.
