And it should be noted that this is how 'NGD' should be done! Step by step pic's, you can almost sense the tension/excitement that we are all familiar with.

    This has set the benchmark.
    Thanks!

Here's me playing "1000 Miles" last night:

    Absolutely sublime.

I've decided to forgo the expensive electrics (after the Fusion Customs obviously) as my <£300 stuff is fantastic but I'd love a high end acoustic like that!

    Superb stuff.

Have to ask matey as I'm curious (and I'm in no way impugning your choice) - why specifically a J-45 over a D-28, given your Neil predilections?

BTW this is a question I occasionally ask myself - happy as I am with my J-45 I do wonder how I'd have gotten on with a D-28 instead.

I think there's two parts to that answer (and I agree with your mention of Old Black on the other thread).

When I went out to try a few acoustics earlier in the year, I felt the Gibson fitted my hands better than the Martin - both were excellent, but there was something about the J-45 neck I preferred.

The other part of the answer is probably my Beatles predilections; I played John's J-160E a lot of years ago. I think that was probably the over-riding factor.

I completely concur about the neck. It was a big factor in my choice too.

I'm starting to get through the nitro in a couple of places on the side of the neck (yes, where all the open chords are...)

I refuse to rule out a D-28 or equivalent in future though, I think it's what Neil would want.

Thanks for elaborating on that one, I find it interesting to hear what drives important choices like these.
