Sound like a lead pan, given the high and limited range. As far as price, a private panman may make you one for (I'm guessing) $700, and the absolute best are as high as $5K, which is ridiculous.

I'm with dougperc here, seems like a lead pan. You can have one within the range of $500 - $800 that are really great.
