This is the major problem I have with the deal- the coverage we've had on the BBC, and particularly this year's exact lineup has been phenomenal. I'll likely be watching the races on Sky as I already have the HD package, but will probably watch the pre/post stuff from the beeb for the live races at least

No word on Eddie and Ted Kravitz then.

I think I'm done with F1 though, too much time to invest for too many processional races on shit circuits where barring retirement qualifying on pole and/or leading after turn 1 means winning. And too much strategy relies on the pits. DRS helps, but I want to see proper wheel to wheel racing, not an artificial method for overtaking. Same goes for KERS, I think it's a good technology, but the boost button, meh.

I've heard Eddie Jordan has also left the BBC (he told French TV that he couldn't be bothered covering half the races live). I won't be watching F1 next year and from what I've read the UK TV audience will shrink dramatically. Thanks BBC - so long as there's money for crap reality shows. I'd love to know how the BBC's DG can justify spending £18 million on the Voice which is just an X Factor rip-off.

I think we should count the points from the BBC full races only.

Then send the "championship" winner a trophy care of the FIA / Bernie.

With luck it will be someone different to the official winner.

The Terrestial TV World F1 Champion - type thing.
The Reverend Lord Henry was not one of those new-fangled parsons who carry the principles of their vocation uncomfortably into private life.

And next she's going to offer to present it to the young hunk that wins.

Good idea for a newspaper campaign though, they've had more worserer ideas.

Not having to listen to Eddie Jordan is the only upside of all this.

I fall on the other side of the fence - I'll get a Sky sub to watch the full season live. You've got to feel for the Beeb folk who form the team behind all the F1 coverage - they seem to have been working really hard to develop a geneuinyl great format and great coverage and surrounding material (the tweeters, columninsts, article writers) only to suddenly find them selves part of (or even not part of) a half-arsed gesture at taking F1 seriously. A real shame.
    Red ones are better.

It would be a disaster if the BBC lost F1 altogether. It was terrible when it was on ITV. F1 isn't F1 without 'The Chain'.

I know the BBC are having budget issues but there are other less important programmes that they could ditch. To lose the coverage to SKY over money is just crap. I'd rarther pay more license fee than give money to Sky.
