Truefire
Wondering if anyone else has used their lesson material, either physical disks or downloads (or indeed watched online) ? I ask as I recently bought a course and am pretty impressed.
I'd been aware of them but am usually dubious about online stuff so hadn't parted with any money, then someone I know who is twice the guitarist I am mentioned having got one of their new courses (a Carl Verheyen one) and was very impressed with it, so with that recommendation I bought the same one (as a download) and while I was there picked up one on CAGED and another Blues one that was on sale.
I was already impressed with the material, and thought it fairly priced, then I went nosing around their forum - blimey - it's jam packed with good info, links to resources, user-generated material to enhance courses and general learning stuff. Well worth signing up as a free user for a nose about I reckon.
If nothing else I think I'll give this bloke's 'easy theory' material a go http://truefire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3985 - there are threads there to support it too.
Red ones are better.
They used to do some of the lesson stuff for Guitar Player and there were samples on the GP website, all gone now though. All clear stuff.
I worked through an introduction to CAGED, I really must buy the rest of the course one day I think I got to CAG.
I have a book on CAGED but having the on screen demonstration made a lot more sense of it.
Breeding mammals with insects is my personal bugbear.
I have both of Larry Carlton's Truefire courses on disc (335 Blues and Improv), both very good and informative and very good VFM (I got both discounted via his own newsletter at the time, before the main Truefire site launched I think, a few years back). The Frank Vignola ones look good too.

Just like you Timmy, I wasn't very sure about TrueFire. I checked it last night and saw "50 Jazz-Blues licks", so I thought I'd check it out for $19. After all the bonus cash, introductory discounts and the like, I actually picked it up for just over $10 (£6.90).
The amount of content for that money is, in my opinion, amazing. Every lick has a 3+ minute video, showing you around the lick & little nuances you can introduce. Tabs in 3 different ways (GPro, PTab & PDF which I've been using) and a 5 minute looping backing track for you to play over.
Pair this with a nice user interface, built in metronome & tuner...
I'm happy with my money spent so far... And I'm only 3 licks into the 50

I bought Larry Carlton 335 , and have been given a couple of other courses for free. The freebeies wee amazing as they sent discs from the USA to the UK at no cost to me , and were very good.
They have a lot of stuff on the site , and I like the power tab and tab backup to the lessons.
I have been thinking of buying the Larry Carlton blues course , but have too much stuff like that now , and need to really concentrate on what I have.

I've bought a couple of their courses as downloads: 50 funk licks and Frank Vignola's 'jazz up your blues' course. Very good stuff - my gripe is with their video format: you have to use their own player software, so it's often a choice between a very small video window or fairly poor quality full-screen.
In the last month I've joined one of the Truefire 'Sherpa' programs - the 'Bebop Dojo' with Sheryl Bailey. It's expensive ($99 per month) but so I'm happy with it - there's a ton of pre-recorded video/pdf material plus the real selling point is the video exchange with Sheryl, who is a great musician and teacher. You also get unlimited online access to the entire Truefire catalogue. That's a lot of material!

Just downloaded Howard Morgen "Fingerboard breakthrough" Like the way he makes it seem simple... very well explained ,, only £18 for over 4 hours of lessons including 132 page manual and power tab...

Having had a look recently, as a result of this Thread, I'm very tempted by the Robben Ford Course which is becoming available this week - he's one of my favorite guitarists.
^ Good timing for this thread (pardon the pun)...I just bought my inaugral vid a few days ago.
What got me going was Jeff Maclairn's sample of lick #29 which I had to learn..I bought this particular instructor's 50 blues licks just for that one lick (they got me), and it's a great lil course.
Dabbled with some Frank Vignola and Tommy Emmanuel lessons - pretty good IMHO
